ENVIROMENTAL CONSERVATION

Puerto Rico's Coasts used as trash cans

Our dear Puerto Rico is group of many precious islands; like Culebra, Vieques, Caja de Muerto (Coffin Island), Desecheo and Mona Island, among others. We enjoyed spectacular natural wealth with rivers, caves, forests, mangrove, beaches and reefs that feed our spirit and give life to us. These resources, just as everything else in life, if we do not take proper care of them, gets deteriorated, since it has happened to the environment in our beautiful “Isla del Encanto” (Enchantment Island – AKA Puerto Rico).

It is, because of this, that Scuba Dogs has taken an active participation in the conservation from the environment, mainly marine. We directed in Puerto Rico the biggest effort of beach cleaning in the world, we created the educative campaign “Waste Fish” (“Pez Basura”), impelled the program of Blue Flag, pushed to create a submarine artificial reef park, make censuses of fish and chorales, we organized echo-tourism excursions, and we promote constructive efforts of coastal reforestation, installation of trash receptacles, chorales plantation, buoys for the diving areas and much more.

We must conserve Puerto Rico of today so that our children can enjoy tomorrow’s Puerto Rico. Join our great adventure of Marine Conservation. Explore, learn and enjoy our natural beauties with Scuba Dogs.
